To emphasize the difference between hereditary and acquired diseases. 3. To identify etiological factors behind common odontogenic conditions of the oral and para-oral regions.

نتائج المقرر:

a. Knowledge and Understanding:

1-	Recognize the pathogenesis of genetic and immunologic and infectious diseases which are particularly relevant to the practice of dentistry.
2-	Recognize the mechanisms of responses to insults including trauma and infection that cause developmental and non-developmental and odontogenic disorders
3-	Identify the clinical signs and symptoms of inflammatory and non-inflammatory odontogenic diseases.
4-	Identify the etiology and pathogenesis contributing to oral and para-oral disorders.
5-	Define common developmental and odontogenic disorders.

b. Intellectual Skills:

1-	Relate etiological factors behind common odontogenic conditions of the oral and para-oral regions.
2-	Differentiate between hereditary and acquired diseases

c. Professional and Practical Skills:

1-	Build a differential diagnosis list of different odontogenic lesions, depending on their characteristic clinical, radiographic and histopathological features.
2-	Diagnose different dental and oral pathological conditions, depending on clinical, radiographic and microscopic features.

d. General and Transferable Skills:

1-	manage time effectively
2-	practice IT for learning
