• This course is designed to Familiarize the students with instruments , materials and laboratory procedures and techniques used complete denture removable prosthodontics. • The student will gain experience in the fabrication of maxillary and mandibles complete dentures.

Introduction and classification for partial denture construction, denture base, rests, connectors, retainers, surveyor and laboratory procedures.

Course outcomes:

a. Knowledge and Understanding:
	1- Describe the anatomy and physiology of the oral cavity 2- Define different steps for complete denture construction 3- Explain various mandibular movements 4- describe various steps of history taking and clinical examination including intra and extraoral examination 5- describe different impression techniques 6- recognize jaw relation , basic occlusion , methods of record in complete denture 7- describe steps of try in , denture insertion and maintaince of complete dental appliance 8- identify patients complain after denture insertion 9- List various of artificial teeth 10- describe suitable management of some problematic completely edentulous cases 11- Describe remounting , repair , relining , and rebasing of dentures.
b. Intellectual Skills:
	1- Interpret normal and abnormal edentulous anatomy and its relationship to 2- explain different fators related to retantion and stability of complete denture 3- Assess the typical problems that can occur during complete denture 4- Make decisions regarding common technical discrepancies and faults 5- distinguish patient complain and develop the effective measures for their treatments
c. Professional and Practical Skills:
	1- Perform intra and extra oral examinations 2- Apply procedures of basic impression techniques, jaw relation record, trial and final denture insertion 3- Manipulate the dental material necessary for fabrication a complete denture 4- Construct casts and models and take required radiographs to formulate the best treatment plan according to patients needs 5- Manipulate the dental materials necessary to fabricate a complete denture 6- Use various instrument used in fabrication of complete dentures. 7- Perform the laboratory steps required to fabricate a complete denture 8- Perform Repair for complete dentures
d. General and Transferable Skills:
	1- demonstrate sensitivity and attitude in patient care particularly toward elderly patients 2- display an appropriate professional communication skills with patients, colleagues and the rest of dental team and other relevant team or group. 3- adopt a creative attitude in an ethical and scientific approach 4- dealing with patients with different mental attitude and realizing the personal limitations. 5- Self evaluates the professional abilities, performance and progress 6- Uses the information technology to improve the education through self – directed learning and research work activities 7- develop skills of problem solving as well as working in a prescribed time limit
