•To educate the students about the basics of different principles of tooth preparation to receive veneered crown restorations. •To enable the students to understand the different technical laboratory steps ( dies , wax pattern , spruing , investing , and casting procedures ).

Course outcomes:

a. Knowledge and Understanding:
	1- a1- Define the different principles of tooth preparation to receive veneered crown restorations 2- a2- classify different types of dental casting alloys. 3- a3- Identify the different technical laboratory steps employed in construction of cast metal restorations.
b. Intellectual Skills:
	1- b1- select properly different materials suitable for casting of different casting alloys. 2- b2- Identify different causes of casting failure.
c. Professional and Practical Skills:
	1- c1- construct wax pattern for full veneer metal crown 2- c2- construct wax pattern for veneered crown 3- c3- construct wax pattern for all- ceramic crown
