Course outcomes:

a. Knowledge and Understanding:

1- Recognize the etiology, clinical picture and management of early childhood caries
2- different techniques used in pulp therapy of primary and young permanent teeth.
3- Recognize the different types of crowns used for children.
4- Describe different classes of traumatic injuries in children.
5- Describe different methods of space analysis and the possible management for different cases of space problems in both primary and mixed dentitions.
6- Recognize different preventive and treatment modalities for patients with special health care needs
7- Recognize etiology, diagnosis and treatment modalities for MIH.

b. Intellectual Skills:

1- Plan decisions regarding management of deep caries in both primary and young permanent dentitions.
2- Integrate personal, medical and dental history together with clinical and radiographic finding to manage both immediate and delayed effects of traumatic injuries
3- - Distinguish between different types of space maintainers and their uses.
4- select the appropriate management for each class of traumatic injuries in children.
5- Criticize different types of pediatric crowns

c. Professional and Practical Skills:

1- Treat clinically uncomplicated cases regarding pulp therapy in primary and young permanent teeth.
2- Detect signs of child abuse in pediatric patients
3- Calculate the arch length
4- Write a referral letter when needed

d. General and Transferable Skills:

1- Communicate effectively with the child and child's parent(s) or caretaker.
2- Apply empathy towards children& their parents
3- Maintain respectful attitude towards dental staff.
4- - Adhere to health and safety regulations that greatly affect dental practice and environment.
